Jennifer Shelley is a Media Communications graduate from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), who is an experienced English and Spanish translator, with post-graduate studies in 20th Century Literature. She graduated from the International Top Executive Leadership Program taught by ITAM-Kellogg-Ashridge-IMD, obtained the GRI Certified Training Program Certificate, and works with SDL Trados Studio 2021 for translation, localization, and verification work.
Jennifer Shelley’s professional experience centers on the fields of translation, media communications, and public affairs. She has ample experience in drafting and implementing communications and public affairs strategies, in media relations, and in drafting, editing, and translating diverse texts and documents, specializing in annual and social responsibility reports.
She has held different formal positions in the public and private sectors. She started her professional career at the state-owned television station Imevisión, and continued holding important positions at the Mexican Department of Communications and Transportation (SCT), and in President Ernesto Zedillo’s Press Office. In the private sector she worked in the media communications and translation divisions at Satmex, Public Strategies, Inc., De la Calle, Madrazo, Mancera, SC and, most recently, she was Director, Corporate Communications at Grupo Modelo. Further, she has more than 30 years’ experience as a freelance translator.
She has also contributed to writing and editing several publications, including the annual and social responsibility reports for several of the most important Mexican companies, the books Teléfonos de México: una empresa privada, the chapter on the national toll-highway plan included in the Historia de las obras públicas en México collection, and the directory on the Mexican government, Los poderes a la mano.
